Assymetrical cassock: Stylish cassock with a cozy look Hat pattern

£8.00

Why You’ll Love This Hat

Asymmetrical shape
The lower edge of the crown is intentionally uneven from left to right. This asymmetry gives the hat a modern, relaxed look without trying too hard.

Built-in volume & soft drape
The outer and inner crown have different volumes, creating a natural slouch that lets you tilt the hat to your favorite side.

Tucked crown top
Carefully placed tucks at the top add structure and visual interest—stylish from every angle, even the back.

Deeper fit is key
Wear it deep and forward for a grown-up, chic look. If worn too far back, it can appear too childish or widen the face.

Story Behind the Hat

This hat was actually born from a happy accident.

While experimenting with designs to create a voluminous, stylish cap that looked good just by wearing it, I accidentally made it too voluminous. In a moment of play, I randomly added a tuck to tone it down—and it looked surprisingly perfect!

Of course, I couldn't just leave it at that. I carefully refined the position and width of the tuck so that anyone could recreate that effortlessly cool silhouette with this pattern.

One traveler even visited my workshop from Australia during her trip—just to make this hat!
That’s when I realized: this hat’s charm crosses borders.
It’s a casual yet distinctive casquette that adds a fashionable flair to any outfit.

Recommended Fabrics

Light- to medium-weight fabrics** are ideal.
Choose soft fabrics that allow the tucks to drape nicely and hold their shape.

For spring and summer

Cotton sheeting
A smooth, lightweight woven cotton fabric often used for shirts or quilting. It’s easy to sew and holds structure well.

Chambray / Dungaree
Lightweight cotton or cotton-blend fabric that resembles denim but is thinner and softer. Chambray has a more refined look, while dungaree is slightly more textured.

For autumn and winter
Lightweight wool
Soft, thin wool fabrics that are warm but not too thick—ideal for hats, skirts, and light coats.

Nep tweed
A textured wool fabric with small, colorful flecks (neps). It adds character without being too heavy.

💡 Tip:*For fall and winter, avoid thick fabrics. If the fabric is too bulky, the tucks can become too thick and difficult to sew. Lightweight wool or medium-weight fabrics are much easier to work with and give a cleaner result.
